My Computer Store Warranty Policy for All New Computer Systems, Computer Parts, and Cellular Phones and Accessories.
New, Custom-Built Computer Systems
All new computer systems manufactured by My Computer Store are protected by a 1 year parts and labor warranty. Any hardware component originally installed by My Computer Store, which may become defective during the 1 year warranty term, will be repaired or replaced, at no cost to the original owner of the system. Warranty coverage begins at the date of delivery, is non-transferable, and belongs only to the client who originally purchased the computer system. The Warranty will become void if the case is opened without previous consultation of a technician from My Computer Store, or if any hardware modifications are performed by the client and is not authorized by My Computer Store. The My Computer Store Warranty service will take precedence over any non-warranty service, and My Computer Store will make every attempt to provide priority service to customers who require warranty repair service. My Computer Store will provide a certified technician to perform any warranty service required. Warranty repair service will only be performed at a My Computer Store authorized service center, or any other location which has been authorized by My Computer Store.
The following items are examples of common hardware components within new computer systems:
Case, Power Supply, Motherboard, RAM (memory), CPU (processor), Hard Drive, Floppy Drive, CDRom, DVDRom, CDBurner, DVDBurner, Video Card, Sound Card, Modem, Network Card, Fan, Cables, and other Custom Components
Although complete systems are covered under a 1 year warranty, some components may carry a longer, 3 year warranty. The end user is responsible for any component warranty after the 1 year warranty term has expired. Some examples of components that may carry a 3 Year warranty are: Hard Drives, Processors (CPUs), memory, and other components that specifically state extended warranties.
System Repairs
Any system repaired by MyComputerStore.com is tested and leaves in working condition. Acts of nature, such as, but not limited to, fire, lightning, or other damage is NOT covered. Parts installed by MyComputerStore.com ARE warranted for 1 year. If part failure is due to software corruption, or other software related issues such as; spyware, virii, or 3rd party installs, our software warranty would apply, thus making part repair NOT covered under normal warranty.
Software Warranty
Any Operating System software as well as other 3rd party software IS NOT covered under The My Computer Store Warranty. Often times, damaged or corrupted software is caused by user error, in which case My Computer Store will not be held responsible to repair it under the normal warranty. If a computer system has been submitted to My Computer Store's service department for problems which the owner believes to be hardware related, but is later determined to be software related after diagnosis, My Computer Store reserves the right to charge for any services rendered. Common Operating Systems include, but are not limited to: Windows 95, 98, ME, 2000, or XP. Some examples of 3rd party software include, but are not limited to: MS Office, Corel Applications, Nero Burning ROM, Shareware Software, Kazaa and other file Sharing Software, Adobe Products, Norton or other anti-virus programs, games, or industry specific software.
Cell Phones and Accessories
Cell Phones carry a 1 Year Parts and Labor Warranty from the manufacturer. MyComputerStore.com will replace cell phone if it is found defective within 14 days. Beyond the 14 day limit, cell phones must be sent back to the manufacturer for repair. MyComputerStore.com does NOT provide support or warranty phones purchased from other dealers. MyComputerStore.com does NOT provide warranty support for cell phones and accessories, nor does MyComputerStore.com cover repairs or replacements for clients whom have purchased 3rd Party Insurance. The insurance company must be contacted for resolution. Cell phone accessories are warranted for 7 days after date of purchase. Beyond the 7 day term, client must contact manufacturer for replacement.
Laptop Repairs
MyComputerStore.com does NOT warrant custom laptop repairs requiring soldering, or board level diagnosing. Laptop Repair Warranty only applies to specific repair performed and does not imply warranty on other problems which may arise or are found during original repair. If your laptop is under warranty from the manufacturer, we suggest you call to have it repaired while still under said warranty, otherwise repairs done by MyComputerStore.com could void your original manufacturer warranty.
Warranty Validation and Submission
Before any My Computer Store warranty service can be performed, the following must occur: Proof of purchase must be presented by the original owner at the time of submission for warranty service. My Computer Store will perform diagnostic tests to determine and verify any defects. If deemed by My Computer Store that a hardware component has become defective, we will replace or repair it at no charge to the customer. The replacement component will be covered by the remaining period of the system warranty. If the component is not available in stock, then My Computer Store will, at it’s discretion, either return the component to the original manufacturer for a replacement or use a comparable component of equal or greater value. My Computer Store will make every attempt to expedite the replacement of the defective component if it is no longer stocked at the My Computer Store service center. Because the length of this replacement process is largely dictated by the availability of components, My Computer Store can make no statements regarding guarantees of turn-around time. Typically, replacements for common components are available in 1-3 business days; however, in some rare cases, it may take as long as 30 days before a replacement component is available.
